- Storytelling: Stories are a powerful way of communicating ideas; they signpost our experiences, make sense of what we know, and create continuity. We learn by both hearing and telling stories and practicing through stories. With a few useful tips we can all be better storytellers and listeners too. I will offer a variety of storytelling styles, best practice skills, and some terrific stories you can share. Participants get tools to make storytelling easier, more fun, and more impactful as well.
- Outdoor Learning: Taking a group of children outside a classroom might seem counterintuitive to many teachers, but with a few tweeks to your management and expectations your class can benefit from different learning environments and take new perspectives and attitudes back into the classroom.
- Nature Connection for kids: If you have a natural space available for learning, then join me in bringing students into these spaces with excitement, curiosity and comfort in the space.
- Garden Education: If you have a garden available to your students, it is a fabulous resource for your classroom.
- Educator Nature Connection: The best way to bring children into nature connection is to experience and rejuvinate your own whenever possible. Not only does this translate into a meaningful and enjoyable share with children, but your own nature connection provides relief and inspration for heartweary teachers!
- Nature Crafts: Artful ways to connect with each other and the natural elements. Seeds, wool, plants, water, sun, soil, rocks and many other items are used. Sometimes its so nice just to make a nature mandala with friends.
